  2.             FONTSHOW ---- Distribution Diskette Notes
  3. ===============================================================

  5. Note: Setup has been modified to run from any drive and or
  6. directory. It must be RUN UNDER WINDOWS.
  7.  
  8. Note: To users of older versions of FontShow, it is suggested
  9. you delete all *.vbx files distributed with the older version
  10. before you install this version.
  11.  
  12. WARNING: These VBX files MAY be used by other Visual Basic
  13. programs. It is STRONGLY suggested you back them up before
  14. you delete them.
  15.  
  16. You should not attempt to copy the files manually, as they are
  17. stored in compressed form on the distribution diskette.
  18.  
  19. Note: Setup uses the MUSCLE.VB_ file on the distribution diskette
  20. and it also installs it in the target directory as MUSCLE.VBX.
  21.  
  22. ==> It is suggested you restart Windows after installing FontShow.

  28. To Install FontShow from this installation diskette, place it
  29. in a drive, and use the program manager run command to run:
  30. d:\SETUP where "d" is the drive where this diskette is located.
  31.  
  32. (or specify the pathname of where your setup and other files
  33. are located. If FontShow was distributed on more than one
  34. diskette, it must be installed from your HardDrive or a larger
  35. high density diskette. All install files MUST reside in the same
  36. directory)
  37.  
  38. Setup will analyze your system and enable options depending on
  39. your current setup. It is not advisable to alter the settings
  40. once setup has started, unless you wish to re-install portions
  41. of FontShow at a later time. Disabling certain install options
  42. may result in improper operation of FontShow. To Complete the
  43. installation, click on OK.
  44.  
  45. During the copy process, if Setup detects duplicate files in the
  46. target directories, they will be examined and if found to be the
  47. same size and date, or if they are newer, the files will not be
  48. overwritten. This is only of concern if you have installed
  49. FontShow previously. Should it be necessary, you can enable the
  50. "Replace duplicate files in target Directory" Option, and setup
  51. will overwrite all duplicate files in the target directories, with
  52. the files on the setup diskette. This should only be necessary, if
  53. FontShow fails to function properly. The checking is primarily
  54. performed to prevent overwriting newer versions of the VBX files,
  55. that you might have installed with other Visual Basic applications.

  57. Once the setup process is complete, use the program manager
  58. File/New command to add FontShow to the program manager group
  59. of your choice. (Or follow the instructions for adding FontShow
  60. to your shell, if you are not using the Windows program
  61. manager)
  62.  
  63. For additional configuration notes and performance information
  64. refer to the FONTSHOW.TXT file which is installed in the
  65. FontShow directory specified during installation.
  66.  
  67. There are two differences in this distribution to be noted:
  68.  
  69. 1) VBRUN200.DLL is included (diskette distribution only);
  70. 2) This setup program will install for you, except for adding
  71.    the icon to program manager. The installation steps in
  72.    FONTSHOW.TXT are for reference purposes only.

  74. Setup Problems:
  75. ---------------

  77. The Setup program is new. Should you encounter difficulties,
  78. the files on the distribution diskette may be extracted using
  79. the EXPAND utility supplied with windows. See FSFILES.TXT for
  80. the appropriate names and locations of the supplied files.

  82. Removal Information:
  83. --------------------
  84.  
  85. FontShow setup logs all files copied during all setup runs to
  86. file: FSFILES.LOG in the FONTSHOW directory.  If you wish to
  87. remove FontShow, refer to this file. Please note that VBX
  88. and the DLL files may be used by other applications, so
  89. exersise caution when deleting these files.
